Teams I Would Like to See on the 2017-2018 Rhode Island MBB Schedule
Before the 2017-2018 Rhode Island MBB schedule is fully completed and published, I have assembled a number of teams that I would like to see on it for next season (to benefit URI's chances of getting back into the Big Dance). I took money and geography well into consideration, as well as the possibility of a couple of these teams potentially joining the Atlantic 10. In addition, I did not mention teams that everyone knows will already be on the 2017-2018 schedule.
Realistically possible:
Vermont, Northeastern, Princeton, Bucknell, Monmouth, Cincinnati, Creighton, Xavier, Yale, Kent State, Akron, Lehigh
Somewhat possible:
UCONN, Florida Gulf Coast, Wichita State, Illinois State, Middle Tennessee, ETSU, UT-Arlington, Grand Canyon, UNC-Asheville, Charleston, Louisiana Tech, Marquette, Pittsburgh, Syracuse
I can dream:
Duke, Kansas, Oregon, Florida, Louisville, Villanova
Sooner rather than later, it will be time for Dan Hurley and his staff to fill out their full season schedule and I hope some of these aforementioned teams are on it.
