Reviewing the 2016-2017 Rhody Ram Ingredients
The Rhode Island Rams had a large amount of success in the 2016-2017 season and there are specific reasons that enabled them to do so. Thus, I took some time to figure out what Dan Hurley and his coaching staff will want to reorder from his team's ingredients and bring over to the 2017-2018 season.
Appetizers: (These are ingredients URI wants to start all of their games with and maintain throughout each game)
Hustle
Grit
Determination
Aggression
Attentiveness
Entrees: (These are the main ingredients for URI winning games)
Stellar three-point defense
Fierce rebounding
Blocks, blocks, blocks!
Creating turnovers on defense
Efficient, unselfish passing
Strong, crafty drives to the hoop
Desserts: (These are the ingredients that help URI to close games out)
Clutch shot-making ability
Clutch free-throw shooting
Leftovers: (URI will want to leave all of these ingredients in the past)
Inconsistent three-point shooting
Inconsistent and inaccurate free-throw shooting
Not getting to the free throw line enough
Fouling the opposition too much/foul trouble
Leaving the left baseline wide open at the end of games
If I was Coach Hurley, I would order all appetizers, entrees, and desserts from the menu. The menu is comprised of many good ingredients that can lead to success for this team for seasons to come.
