The Yins and Yangs of Rhode Island MBB

  • Apr 21, 2017
  • 1 min read

As many people know about the yin and yang theory, yin is the passive, negative force, and yang is the active, positive force. Here is an assorted list of the way Rhode Island MBB's yins and yangs line up:

Yin #1 - Three-point shooting

Yang #1 - Drives to the hoop

Yin #2 - Leaving shooters wide-open for threes, especially on the left baseline (near the large student crowd) in the Ryan Center

Yang #2 - Getting blocks on defense

Yin #3 - Overhelping and overcommitting to one player on defense

Yang #3 - Three-point defense

Yin #4 - Inconsistent rebounding as a team

Yang #4 - Hustling to loose basketballs

Yin #5 - Trying to get by the opposing team's full court press

Yang #5 - Half court defense

Yin #6 - Free throw shooting

Yang #6 - Making the extra pass on offense

Yin #7 - Closing out games

Yang #7 - Contending in all games

There is a yin for every yang in the yin and yang theory, as is the case with Rhode Island men's basketball.

About a URI Attendee

Hi, I attend URI basketball games religiously. I am also a pessimist. These 2 facts do not always mix cohesively. Read my articles to see why.
