An Atlantic 10 MBB Summer Poll

In the nice Rhode Island summer weather, I have made my first Atlantic 10 men's basketball poll for the 2017-2018 college basketball season:

1. Rhode Island - Self-explanatory

2. VCU - Favorable conference schedule

3. Saint Bonaventure - Jaylen Adams can carry the Bonnies a long way.

4. Dayton - Winning games at home can keep them in the top four of the conference but the Flyers will not be flying anywhere for the 2018 NCAA tournament.

5. Davidson - Betting against Bob McKillop is a mistake that continues to be made in each season that the Wildcats have been in the Atlantic 10.

6. Richmond - De’Monte Buckingham, Khwan Fore, and Nick Sherod are a talented core that Chris Mooney has to build off from last season's top-four finish.

7. Saint Louis - Travis Ford has built a talented roster that includes the likes of Michigan State transfer Javon Bess and UCF transfer Adonys Henriquez, as well as incoming recruits Jordan Goodwin and Hasahn French.

8. La Salle - The Explorers look to be the conference's most Jekyll and Hyde team again.

9. George Mason - Dave Paulsen still has Otis Livingston II and Jaire Grayer to lean on but there is no more Marquise Moore and Jalen Jenkins.

10. Saint Joseph's - Charlie Brown has all-Atlantic 10 potential and he will welcome back Shavar Newkirk, Lamarr Kimble, and Pierefrancesco Oliva.

11. UMASS - Losing DeJon Jarreau and Brison Gresham is not how Matt McCall wanted to start his tenure with UMASS but they still have a couple of talented pieces.

12. Duquesne - Keith Dambrot is a great coach that needs at least a few years to rebuild.

13. George Washington - The Colonials' roster has completely broken down, with Kevin Marfo, Jared Sina, Colin Goss, and Jordan Roland all leaving. Yuta Watanabe can only do so much.

14. Fordham - All of their good players trasnferred out.

I am interested to hear all of your thoughts on how the teams in the Atlantic 10 will stack up in the preseason polls for the 2017-2018 college basketball season. Be sure to let me know on Twitter (@LoveRI401) or on the forums of this website.

Drink up and enjoy the summer Rhode Island MBB fans, college basketball season will be back before you know it. .

About a URI Attendee

Hi, I attend URI basketball games religiously. I am also a pessimist. These 2 facts do not always mix cohesively. Read my articles to see why.
