Why the Orlando Magic Need to Add Hassan Martin to Their 2017-2018 Roster

Now, I will list an assortment of reasons why Orlando Magic need to add Hassan Martin to their 2017-2018 roster.

1. Fans - Ever since Orlando made it to the 2009 NBA Finals with Dwight Howard and company, no one goes to the Magic's games unless they have nothing better to do. As beautiful as their basketball court is, their team is horrendous. No one wants to go watch a failing team. However, with Hassan Martin on the roster, Martin and the Magic will have the support of numerous Rhody MBB fans. Recently, the same thing happened when URI alum, Xavier Munford, had success with the Memphis Grizzlies.

I do not know if the Orlando Magic have been paying attention to my fantastic Twitter account but they better be. The Staten Island native may no longer be patrolling the paint in the Ryan Center but I have seen several fans on social media come to support Martin with his NBA aspirations.

Here are just a few examples:

2. Defense/Rebounding/Blocks/Athleticism/Everything - If your NBA team is going to suck, at least look like you are trying. Martin contributes in every single significant part of a basketball game besides maybe shooting three-point jump shots and refilling the Powerade bottles on the sidelines.

3. Highlight reel plays - Aside from Aaron Gordon, the only players that can make memorable highlights in a NBA game for Orlando are their two 2017 draft picks (Jonathan Isaac and Wesley Iwundu) and Hassan Martin.

Hi, I attend URI basketball games religiously. I am also a pessimist. These 2 facts do not always mix cohesively. Read my articles to see why.
