Do URI Fans Still Believe in URI Football?

After a whole day (August 15, 2017) where I admitted that if I attend all of the Rhode Island football games in the 2017 season, I will be going to only support the Ramettes and the cheerleaders; I wanted to know how my peers felt on the matter. When I previously wrote about how the football team can gain respect throughout their local community and in the state, it garnered the same response. While everyone emphatically agreed with my stance on the situation, how many wins that the team produces in the upcoming season is huge. According to the fans, 40% think that the Rams will win at least 3 games in 2017. Meanwhile, 60% of the voters do not see the team winning any more than 2 games.

Personally, I hope that I am able to put up with the entire season of Division 1 FCS football to see the college football team from Kingston, RI win at least 3 games. With that being said, I am more confident in seeing another disappointing, underwhelming season for this struggling football program. Let us all hope for a miracle and at the very least, I hope that I can see enough worthwhile entertainment on URI's football field to write about in 2017.

About a URI Attendee

Hi, I attend URI basketball games religiously. I am also a pessimist. These 2 facts do not always mix cohesively. Read my articles to see why.
