My Weekly NFL Picks: Week One

In a new series that I am starting, I will be predicting the winners of every NFL matchup for the 2017-2018 season. Let's see how this goes and I hope that everyone can have a laugh at how great (or how terrible) my picks are.

Week One: (Tampa Bay @ Miami is being rescheduled to Week 11, as reported on Twitter by Adam Schefter)

Kansas City @ New England: Kansas City - Kareem Hunt is going to go off, plain and simple. The Kansas City defense can limit Tom Brady and co. enough to have the Chiefs escape with a big week one road win.

New York (Jets) @ Buffalo: Buffalo - Both teams are trash but the Jets are worse and Buffalo is playing at home.

Philadelphia @ Washington: Washington - In possibly the closest matchup of the week, I will take the home team and Kirk Cousins' aerial attack.

Oakland @ Tennessee: Oakland - It is time for "Beast Mode" to get off to a good start in week one and I do not trust the Titans offense to pick them.

Atlanta @ Chicago: Atlanta - The Falcons are looking for redemption this season and they are going to start by blowing out the Bears at Soldier Field.

Jacksonville @ Houston: Houston - I'm going to give the Texans the benefit of the doubt because they are playing at home and Blake Bortles still is the starting QB for Jacksonville.

Pittsburgh @ Cleveland: Pittsburgh - Welcome to the NFL, DeShone Kizer.

Baltimore @ Cincinnati: Cincinnati - I trust Cincinnati's offensive weapons more than Baltimore's. Also, the Bengals defensive unit has the edge in this matchup.

Arizona @ Detroit: Arizona - Detroit's defensive starters showed little improvements when the Patriots torched them in week three of the preseason (even after Julian Edelman tore his ACL). The Patriots have no elite running backs and the Cardinals have David Johnson. Do the math.

Indianapolis @ Los Angeles (Rams): Indianapolis - Even without Andrew Luck behind center, it is hard to see a world in which the Colts lose to a mediocre Rams team.

Carolina @ San Francisco: Carolina - Kyle Shanahan becoming the new San Francisco head coach is not enough to save them against teams like Carolina.

Seattle @ Green Bay: Seattle - The Seahawks seem to always have Green Bay's number and I don't see anything changing up this time around.

New York (Giants) @ Dallas: New York - In a matchup where OBJ and Ezekiel Elliot both may or may not play, I like the Giants and their ferocious defense to pull out the win on the road.

New Orleans @ Minnesota: New Orleans - Even without Willie Snead, Drew Brees and the Saints high-octane offense should overpower Minnesota. Plus, Adrian Peterson has already said that he is extremely motivated to perform against his former team.

Los Angeles (Chargers) @ Denver: Denver - The Broncos at home with their elite defense can shut down Phillip Rivers enough times to win.

About a URI Attendee

Hi, I attend URI basketball games religiously. I am also a pessimist. These 2 facts do not always mix cohesively. Read my articles to see why.
