The Spot in the Ryan Center That Rhode Island MBB Hates
I hope that no one has forgotten the wretched spot in the Ryan Center where the Rhode Island Rams have suffered multiple tragic defeats on opposing three-pointers by Atlantic 10 foes. I know that I have never forgotten the exact spot in the Ryan Center that has caused so much heartbreak in past seasons. In case you were not paying attention or somehow forgot the tragedies, I have revitalized them.
On February 25, 2015, Jack Gibbs hit a game-winning three-pointer from "the spot" before T.J. Buchanan could close out.
On February 12, 2016, Dayton's Darrell Davis hit a game-winning three-pointer from "the spot" before Hassan Martin could close out.
On February 10, 2017, Dayton's Xeryius Williams hit a three-pointer from "the spot" to trim the deficit to one point with 18.9 second left in the game. Then, Williams hit the game-winning three-point jump shot from the same spot with 7.2 seconds remaining.
Luckily, getting beat by opposing Atlantic 10 teams in the Ryan Center is something that I don't even worry about anymore.
