Reacting to the 2018-2019 Atlantic 10 MBB Schedule Pairings
On the morning of June 13, 2018, the 2018-2019 Atlantic 10 MBB schedule pairings have been announced and they read as follows for Rhody MBB:
First off, the Rams will have some easy tune-up games at home against the likes of Fordham, George Mason, and George Washington. Plus, it can only help that their only contest against the rebuilding Saint Bonaventure Bonnies will be in the Ryan Center. On the road, games at Duquesne, La Salle, and Richmond should be relatively simple wins.
Next, they will have home games and road games against teams that can rise from being middle-of-the-pack teams to become contenders, in the form of Dayton, Massachusetts, and VCU. The difficult games on the Atlantic 10 portion of their schedule should be their two matchups with conference contenders Saint Louis, their two matchups with likely preseason conference favorites Davidson, and their road game at Saint Joseph's.
By and large, I am pleased with how the conference schedule panned out for the Rhode Island Rams. They will have the opportunity to pick up at least a handful of resume-building wins, while not having a grueling conference schedule, by any means.
