The 2018-2019 Atlantic 10 MBB Pretenders
These are the Atlantic 10 MBB teams that will not realistically compete for the regular season conference title or the Atlantic 10 championship in the Barclays Center:
Dayton - Having Josh Cunningham around is a great foundation block for the Flyers but he does not have much help that he can hang his hat on besides Trey Landers and Jalen Crutcher.
George Mason - I just do not see how the Patriots will get as lucky as they did last season. I am referring to the fact that Ian Boyd hit the game-winning shot in three consecutive conference games last season!
La Salle - After B.J. Johnson's graduation, the Explorers do not have much else beyond Pookie Powell and transfer Traci Carter. Ashley Howard will need at least a few seasons to go through a complete rebuild.
George Washington - Jair Bolden decided to transfer away from the Colonials in April 2018 and they now have no returning players that averaged double-digit points per game last season.
Fordham - Fordham's best player, Joseph Chartouny has transferred to Marquette and there is not much in terms of talent that is left on Jeff Neubauer's roster.
