Unfortunately, five star center Kofi Cockburn removed Rhode Island from the list of schools that he is considering. Additionally, on August 10, 2018, SG James Bouknight eliminated David Cox's team from the schools that he is considering. Going forward, it is highly unlikely that Rhode Island will land Akok Akok.
The two class of 2018 recruits are unlikely to have any effect or impact on Rhode Island MBB's future recruiting plans. In recent history, David Cox and his coaching staff have been heavily pursuing the likes of Dahmir Bishop, Naheem Mcleod, and Tyler Burton. The Rams were at the forefront of Bishop's final eight schools. Meanwhile, they made it into Mcleod's list of his final six schools and the result was the same with Tyler Burton's list of his final six schools.
