Reacting to Aris Tsourgiannis' Commitment to URI

Due to how little film and data that there is on him, there is not much that anyone really knows about Aris Tsourgiannis. What everyone does know is that he viewed as a legit 6'8 power forward from Greece.

I hope that this international experiment works out well for Rhody MBB and Coach Sutton (who was the one that brought him in). I like the prospect's height but I did not see anything overly impressive in any of his game film. Here is a compilation of his highlights from a couple of years back:

Aris Tsourgiannis has not been off to the best start in his time spent playing college basketball in America. To start, he picked up two fouls and a turnover in two minutes of playing time versus Pace in URI's exhibition game to start the 2018-2019 season. Then, in Rhody's first official game of the current season, the international prospect piled up FOUR fouls in one minute on the court. While the jury is still out on the freshman, he appears to be the biggest head-scratcher that the program has had in a while.

Due to the Greek import replacing Michael Layssard, I have high expectations for him. One thing is for sure, this project could very well make the current coaching staff look like geniuses or look completely incompetent on the recruiting trail.

About a URI Attendee

Hi, I attend URI basketball games religiously. I am also a pessimist. These 2 facts do not always mix cohesively. Read my articles to see why.
